I just finished rebuilding the mild slant in my '76 Dart, but need to trace down some issues before it's back on the road. My dd '68 D100 is in need of some neglected maintenance (a few gaskets, front right wheel bearing, and rear axle seals; to start the list). I also want to swap out the muffler and add a tailpipe to quiet it down. Then I'll jump onto head gaskets/cam

Quotetxas2step You still have that'61 front end peaking at the water?) Alas, no. I sold those fenders and valance. I could re-make it two or three times over with this load, but I don't have that much room under the deck...

Shawn, It is free to stare but the parts will cost you money... (sorry it's a little blurry) Steve, certainly not. POWWAG (from the other forum) had me come buy the remainder of his stash, because he didn't want to have to scrap it all.

The 'ol slant six does everything I ask of it. ...Not very quickly, mind you, but it'll get it done. The aerodynamic drag on this load bogged it down more than the weight...

Sounds like you have a great start! The door to cab seal is available at NAPA (I can get you a part # later), the door to glass weatherstripping can be found some at rockauto.com, or all at dannoenterprises.com For seatbelts and arm rests, post a want ad in the buy/sell section of this forum and you might be able to find some? Whereabouts in Oregon are you?

Jake, I don't have any production numbers, but a W200 step side is very uncommon indeed. Long or short bed? It seems like most of the step sides were 1/2 ton 2wd short beds. What motor and trans. does the truck you're looking at have? My personal suggestion is that you should buy it...

The back is threaded, and looks to have an inverted flare at the innermost part, so you should be able to get something rigged up without too much trouble. I found a spare, so I'll drop you an email to work out the details.

Shawn, I don't have my books in front of me, but I'm pretty certain it is just a matter of installing the gage, and plumbing it in. I may have a spare gage in the loft, I'll have to check next time I'm at the shop.

QuoteswptlnThe spring eye bolts are going to be larger on the 200 springs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that stopped after 68. Also, I am not aware of anyone that makes the correct rear springs for our trucks. They moved the centering pin 2" in '72 and those are the only springs I have been able to find. If you go junkyarding for replacement springs, or more/stron

Quotedelaneaf1Everything would bolt right in by just changing out the radiator support, grill, headlight panels, headlights, and hood. Sounds like you have it figured out. You'll have a little difference in the wiring as well, what with the four headlights instead of two. But like you anticipate, a very straightforward swap. (Hoping to do this on a '68 of mine this summer.)

Looking at it closer, it doesn't look like it would follow the body line very well. I'm thinking Adventurer is on the right track, that it's originally off of something else. Too bad the guy doesn't have a picture of before he pulled it, I'm curious how it looked.

Are you over on Scott's site? I believe Nfury8 used a 72-up booster, and had tons of details in his build thread. Measurements to valve cover, and all kinds of good details like that.

No, the 69-71 upper trim was consistent thickness the whole length, and of a less elegant profile.

Wow Jimmie, you make me with I had the space and money to pick it up. Great info, thanks for sharing! I think it would be a great rolling billboard for my carpentry company. I'm waiting to hear back from an acquaintance on another forum who was going to try to buy it. If he does, I'll let you know if he needs your patterns.

My shop is full and my bank is empty. It would make a cool project. Some rust in the doors. Rear floor is wood, was that normal?

I can honestly say I've never seen one quite like that! Do you have a build thread anywhere for that truck? I'd like to see more pics and specs.

No rust and you drove it home, at $1,500 think you probably did okay! Quoteerlitz26I would also like to know what is the correct exterior mirrors and if anyone know where one can find them. Well... here are some of the mirrors that were available: If you can post a picture of the holes in the door, we might be able to point you toward what it originally came with (or was installed over

Hey Hewy. I saw your other truck on craigslist for some time. I hope it finally went to a good home. Your '64 is absolutely gorgeous, and your little matching trailer is a cool touch, too.

Quotewally426ci This has me thinking. I wonder if we can figure out a way to tweak a few thing here and we won't need the other site...... That suits me just fine.

I've chatted with him before, and he is a stand up guy. Better quality parts than are available elsewhere, too. I'll be ordering a set of his cab mount patches by summer.
