I went to see this truck today. It's not a Dodge but I thought it was pretty cool. It's a factory 4x4 GMC with the big block 305 V6. I've heard good things about those engines but never had one. I drove it and it runs well... from what I could tell it appears to have a Dana 44 front and a GM Corporate somethin' or another in the rear. Also has a PTO which operates the winch

I put header wrap on my headers in my big block Ramcharger and it solved all sorts of heat related problems. I used the Vermiculite infused fiberglass wrap. Jegs carries it for around $20. You can also get a heat shield for the starter while you're at it.
