It has the 3.0 engine. Landau and Mark Cross edition. The craigslist ad listed it at $2,000 and I negotiated down to $1,300 because it still had the original tires, hoses, & belt that I knew I'd need to replace. The onboard computer says it has been getting 19 mpg average. My calculations show 20mpg. I have a bit of a heavy foot yet it is in line with the published estimates which is

Got myself a little New Yorker. 41,000 original miles, all original everything. Great on gas. Looks and drives like a new car!! Found it on craigslist for $1,300. Can't wait to get my 66 W200 back together!!. I miss my blue Powerwagon... The 66 has a nice powder coated frame, the body is perfect, painted. Just need the 440 rebuilt and everything put back together!! I hope to work wi

Is your rear bumper a factory original that resembles the front? If so, they are pretty scarce. We usually see the heavy step bumpers installed by dealer or aftermarket. Obviously it would be nice to have the front chromed like the front but all depends on your budget. How does the rest of the truck look? You could cheat and get a cheap front chrome bumper off a Lifestyle truck (72 and up).

Thanks for the kind words about my truck! I actually was out of the country and got back last week. I renewed my ad this morning on craigslist. I had it on scott's site but it got deleted somehow... I have had several offers and turned them down. I think it's worth my asking price. I don't mind to keep it. I just don't have a lot of room and I have another frame off swe

Wow, now that you pointed it out... somethings are not right with that photo! 1) There appears to be a car behind the truck but no street behind the truck. 2) The curb near the rear of the truck does not continue under the truck 3)The front of the truck is too darn close the vehicle in front of it. 4)The cutting and pasting at the rear of the truck where a bumper would be is sloppy. Nice

...can't tell much from that one angle. Perhaps yours does not have the rare bumper as it would have a similar look of the front. Great truck though all in all!!

Cool truck! Love the color!! Any Plum Crazy Mopar with a big block is cool! I had a 68 W200 with a 383 4 speed. I too ditched the stock intake and carb. I went with an Edlebrock intake and Edlebrock Performer 4bbl and she averaged 13.5 mpg on a cross country trip L.A. to N.Y. ... I had 3.55 gearing and so do you according to your VIN tag at the registry. What mileage are you getting? You shoul

Everyone here is trying to be so polite. This story stinks to me. So basically you HAD to take back the car... due to all the errors,... like failing to report the sale, lost sales receipt and forgetting to take your plates... all caused by you. Paying the $75 ticket seems to me a proper penalty for those mistakes. You probably could have gotten out of that too if you went to court. Why not ju

Yes JimmieD, I was reading up and found a similar conclusion on the coil. However, since I apparently already have another ballast connected I will leave the second newer one disconnected. I am still showing a reduction of volts (9) to coil after startup. This means that something is still reducing the volts after I disconnected the ballast on passenger side. If my coil fails, I will replace i

I thought that blue one on drivers side might be a second ballast! Yes, I bypassed the white one on the passenger side near the orange box. It seems to be running great now... I wasn't sure if by disconnecting the newer white ballast I might burn out the coil faster. I will monitor the coil and carry a spare just in case. Thanks for the advice Terry, JimmyD & Gordo. Much appreciated.

Ya git more privacy with the smaller window so'is u can snuggle with yer hunny. Since my truck has the big window then it made sense to have the slider... not sure I'd cut up my cab for the sake of the slider though... small windows are cool!

I removed and tested the ignition module (orange box) and the coil and they are fine. I noticed only 5-7 volts going to the coil from ballast resistor. I did notice a weak connector at the bottom of ballast so I fixed it. (Thanks Terry now it starts up) The volts went up to 7-8 volts but still seemed low... Doesn't coil need 12 volts? I bypassed the ballast and it runs much better. Am I i

My truck sometimes is hard to start. (69 W200 318 with Mopar orange box) Just before turning back the key from trying to start, it wants to start! Obviously when I turn the key back it can't start. I checked the grounds and they all seem great. I changed the balast resistor. This happens when cold or hot. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it won't. Any ideas?

Choose a family member carefully. Let him drive it and register it in his name with his own insurance. Put a lien like a bank on it. That way he can't sell it. If he takes care of it, after a set number of years... 3? you can transfer the cleared title to him.

I remember a few years back some of the members here wanted to put black plates on our old trucks and we had a discussion. Well, last July a new law was put into effect and I don't recall anyone here mentioning it since. We can now put year of manufacture (YOM) black California license plates legally on our vehicle! It used to be only for 1962 and earlier but now updated updated and ma

Yes, I made an assumption on the total load capacity which may be correct. You made an assumption of a half ton capacity which is definitely incorrect. I like your last paragraph on total not exceeding GVW.

Terry, obviously we all agree with the basic claim that one has to consider axle capacity, Spring capacity, Tire capacity and Braking. DUH!! While coming up with your own formula, you introduced a flawed belief that the load capacity of a half ton truck is actually a half ton. That is incorrect. Axle weight capacity should mean just that. Combined axle weight seems to mean total capacity...
