No, it's not normal. Your tierod is just a pipe and you should be able to straighten it out, even if you have to heat it up with a torch. Will definitely need to have it lined up after for sure.

Ken See is hosting the Vermont PW Rally this year up in Cavendish, Vt. July 22-24 if anybody is interested. Usually a good time and good showing of Power Wagons and Ken's Family host it. They have a trail ride on Saturday that is pretty nice too. I'm all booked to go, but will be taking the 93 D250 up, where the 68 won't be ready.
