It charges with lights on lights on and runs for months. The ammeter just has no reference to a charge of any sort whatsoever. When I get back today in a few hours, I will try Terrys field check. Gordo

OK, Terry, It has run for about 1000 miles like this. Battery always checks out engine off,.. 12.4 engine running 14.6 ,.. so the alternator is doing it's job and so is the regulator. I just doesn't show any, not any charge on the plus side of ammeter. That's why I was thinking to hell with it, I just buy volt meter and call it good. But that other thread turned my head, j

Hey guys Johns thread was a cool thread. John it is a 71 with 2 field wires. I just tried the lights with engine not running. It shpwed discharge just as it does when I am driving. Yet the battery stays up and charging by tester is up to 14.6. Max mentioned the bolt bringing the two together for hooking up the volt meter. That would assume that the charging wire is active and not passing t

Max, yes I sure am, I moved to the dry area of the state 20 years ago. I am now in the tri cities area. I used to live in Mount Vernon. I have kids living in Bellingham, Mt. Vernon, and Seattle. What area of the northwest are you residing in.? BTW,. You gave John some fine ideas. Gordo

Ammeter, this is a current problem,.pardon the pun. This is in reference to the 71 that is going on ebay. When I bought it it wasn't charging. I checked the alternator and it was bad. I replaced the alternator and it still showed discharge. However when I went out to the alternator with my tester, 14.6 (approx) was showing on my tester. Well, all is, and has, been working just fin

Hi John, If you go as far as Seattle you should consider taking the ferry from Anacortes out to the San Jaun Islands. Very reasonable with or without car. The other islands near Seattle just don't compare. I kept my boat at Anacortes for quite some time and would go out to the San Jaun islands just about every week during the Summer. I usually brought home several 12 to 24 pound salmon.

Terry, I like windshields, I just don't like putting them in. Your sporadically poised hydrogonistic question? Well, I must answer in the affirmative. Good question, quite piffy. Gordo Damn good answer also.

It is not just California. Hi Norm,. True enough. That's for sure. Like I said I just may do a no reseve auction like I did with the crewcab last month. That worked out quite well. A partial qoute in the meantime from my post above, "if someone here was interested they could "NO DOUBT" buy it for a lot less than it will bring on ebay. What do I hope to get on ebay,? Oh,

Hi Terry, after posting my answer to BEEMR I saw your suggestion. I will surf around to see what that looks like on ebay. Yea, I hate reserves also. That is why I mentioned a possible "no Reserve" in this auction, just like I just did last month. I appreciate the suggestion. I may just do that. Gordo Now, onto the winshield. LOL

Here is why. I want to sell it nationally, I could give a shit about games. I been around the block a lot and know what I am talking about when it comes to a sale. If, and I do say if,.. someone here was interested they could "NO DOUBT" buy it for a lot less than it will bring on ebay. These people here know that, perhaps you don't. Heck, your handle may only have been

The crewcabs end price came out ok, so I may do it on this one.!! This is about a 1800.00 - 2200.00 dollar paint job at ones favorite body shop, when one includes some minor dents s
