My 71 crewcab holds 20 plus. I do not have a sert that show that as an option. Standard tank? I don't know for sure. I get 15 mpg with a 318 two barrel on a long trip which I think is phenomonal. A slant six will likely get somewhat less due to the weight factor. I have 19.5 wheels and 4-10;s as rear ratio which I think is near perfect for a 318 and that weight combo. Gordo

Yes, and that was the 230 straight 6, A darn good engine for Chevrolet and GMC. The V/6 however was excusive to GMC. BTW, the 230 cu. in. got much better milage than the V/6 with a lot less torque. Similar in horsepower though. Gordo
