Everything was fine until I took the cover off my electromechanical voltage regulator. It was only charging a good battery in the low twelve and high elevens. Unfortunately the battery was not disconnected this time. So my bad,.. and the cover vs the grounded regulator met at a fine wire that was hot for just an instant. I know from previous experience the regulators can't take that.

Well I went to pull it from inventory to sell to a friend and guess what,?? it is a small block pan! I recall the pan was shallower than I expected, I further recall the oil plug placement was above flat bottom. I now know (just recently) that all plugs on 440 front sump pans are located on flat bottom. I am sure Trey had faith in his seller, and that Trey had zero bad intent. I ha

Giving a year model will help for feedback. I just unstuck a viciously stuck 68 push button style. much different of course than the fridge style of 61 t0 66. Mine was sitting for 18 years so, I may not have been fighting the same cause / or problem. Gordo

Doug, Yes, more more pictures are needed. It has a slight blemish on the lowest bar. Very slight. I will take pictures from all angles as soon as I get it home from my storage. It is just a few miles away and I shall go fetch by the weekend. I will either post or pm you as soon as I do. Gordo

I tried the vin decoder yesterday. Vin decoderit does not recognize the vin number. I just checked the vin on the truck for matching to the title, and it does. I reckon I shall numerically transpose vin. I just did and my sequence number show it to be a 1965. The sequence number is 513659 Gordo

Guys, here is one for (my bad) the books. The truck is just fine. However at the last minute I looked at the title and it is titled as a 1965 not as a 66 as I had thought prior. That ended the interest for Alan's pursuit as He wants only a 66. Anyways, I love that truck so it just may be a keeper. Gordo

I have a chrome pie plate grille and I was contemplating putting it on ebay. I was thinking 250.00 as it is so close to mint condition. What do you think? This grill would be fine for car show. Gordo

I should have added why it took me this long. For one thing I took a one week vacation. BTW, I had mentioned in a earlier text, that I was pushing 80. I think some thought 80 miles per hour. Nope it was intended to mean, 80 Years of age. Also perhaps the weather Slowed me down a little , as I do work on my vehicles a gravel open to the weather Storage yard . Anyways, I did say

Glad to hear the remainder of your day was fruitful. I tied down my marine 440, visited in Seattle with another large family of mine for a couple more days then went on Arlington / (Lake Stevens purchased the 68 and did the "gordo "flat tow" home to Kennewick,WA. It may be awhile for the 68 to run again as the driver I bought today is a economical mid size car. I bought it for

On my recent trip 10 days ago, to visit family near Renton Washington I met up with Demulsion, (Ethan) and his brother Mark. They both are knowledgable Mopar i.e.: Sweptliners, to say the least. Both being of the millennium age, It was interesting for me to chat with 2 fellows who were all American good ole boys. What a treat.! I certainly recommend to fellow Sweptliners to visit, to trade

I took nearly a week off from working on the 66. I bought an engine from a fellow that I believe to be very honest. I even had references about him. I went ahead and bought the 225 slant six from him. I filled the radiator with some 5050 anti-freeze, I put the battery in it about an hour ago, and Wallah, I soon had a sewing machines sound in both ears. One. more than the other. Any

His contributions were vast and meaningful. I especially noted (as well as many, many, things he volunteered) was how quickly he responded to help, when Norms health issues became known. We will all miss him.

It is my intention to put the newer engine back in the truck and driving around making sure it is sound. I do enjoy driving it and will do so for a few days. At that point of time, I intend to offer it up for sale again. I will honor the same low price, and I will do as should have been done, giving Alan first right of refusal. I’m going to visit family for about a week and when I come back

Here are some pics of a 225 slant six bellhousing with mounts still on it. New camera and no instruction book and I have not figured out flash for inside garage. I need flash for inside garage. I did take some of motor with mounts still on and they did not turn out. Do you need pics for front engine mounts also? If so I will pursue getting those out to you tomorrow. Just let me know. Gor

Yes on both Earl and what is happening to engine. The engine had a harmonic sound at about 45 to 50 miles per hour. Unlike that of a rod bearing. It was very moderate. My trained ear picked up on it and I knew I would not sell it due to that. I have since pulled the engine and I have purchased another. I tore down my existing engine prior to purchasing another. It had one main bearing that

It should be known that Earl requested that I remove his prospective buyer status and suggested that I give Alan first opportunity. What Earl did not know when he contacted me ,.. That I had just discovered a major engine problem. This correspondence from Earl took place prior to my pulling it off the market for a mechanical reason. Gordo

Turns out the truck has a bad engine. I blew up the engine last night drag racing a 427 vette. I now have to withdraw it from items for sale. I bought a premium slant 6 off the internet this morning and as quickly as I get it running I shall again use it as my daily driver. I really like to hunt sweptlines and hardbellys with it. Gordo

Wow,.. Chris,.. did you just give me a negative response. That would surprise me.? On to those with interest in the truck,... not perfect,. But reeeal straight and easily workable rust. It has been a fun daily driver for me. Not to be rude but I will get back to my interested parties. I will commit but not while I am experiencing ( very minor ) health issues. I will be getting back to
