Hey Doug, super to hear from you. Thanks for utilizing your diesel power to hook up to my flat bar and tow my newly aquired D300 up the Lewiston / Clarkston grade. My 360 727 surely appreciated it. I think that my picking up the tab at Wendys hamburger was insufficient. I had a blowout on the left front on the D300 while going downhill into Dayton Wa. "downhill"! I was towing th

The post from Terry and Mark brought me closer to a likely scenario. The consideration of taller tires only. Even though I feel the 2nd 3rd and 4th ratio is perfect for my likings I reckon wheels and tires is best affordable. One reason for my thinking so was due to an earlier ownership. The W200 crewcab with 19.5s that I sold a few years back. I recall still being able to start out

I made my own out of 50's chevy truck split rims with 10 lug pattern on same circle as the 61-68 6 lug 300's, torched out the center hole to fit. Have hit 103 mph with the 4.88 rear gear in the W300. The 5 speed trannies from that vintage are almost all direct d

I recently purchased a rust free 68 D 300 which has had only one owner since early seventies. It has 52,000 original. . Strong 318 with NP 435 4 speed. Love this flatbed and the way it drives.!! ( up to 52 mph ) I want to refresh this D 300 and it will soon replace my existing newer dually. This D300 will be my #1 tow / & over all hobby work rig. I want to achieve more final drive ra

Yes it did. It also had many other features which I will list here. I t had a 440 in it with less than 10,000 miles since major overhaul. The 440's heads were replaced with heads from a 361 for more squence to gain H.P. It also had a 3 speed brownie together with a 2 speed rear axle. As you might have noted it also was a car carrier via the rollback. Terrys camera had remarkable ca

Hey Alan, I have a drivers side door (61 to 66) that I hung onto several years ago because it was so clean and staight with zero rust. I even had the local sand blast guru clean it to bare metal. Kept in the garage attic so it is still pristeen. Never painted. If you need one I will sell it for 95.00 + shipping. It is barren inso far as window upper channel post so it is not very heavy

So I buy a inexpensive regulator and put that on. Oh Oh, still wont go to ammeter. The only way I can get ammeter to charge was to go from the stud of alternator direct to field to regulator. when doing so, then it will show charge. But that is a lazy way to check lines. A person does not want to do that for long of course. Bottom line,. I am thinking of going to a dual field alternator w
