It looks like I will be putting a 440 where there was a 383 in a 1968 sweptline 727. So here is what i have waiting,.... A 1968 440 which has all accesories and is very complete. BTW (From a marine application) The replacement 440 has no exhaust manifolds. Complete even to the point of including all fan belts and the harmonic balancer. I have a 65 short box rolling frame and I too am interested to have independent suspension. I noticed that the later model short box trucks are only one inch longer. Question,... would I encounter more or less fabrication if I were to use the 115" complete. My 65 short box of 114" would be a donor for the cab and box mounts on the 115" frame. Both are 2 wheel drive.

It suggests they are interchangeable. About a year or more ago I gave some info which was off by one number as it was unreadable on my casting. I gave the number as 29786C WRONG!! It is 29785C .
