Demulsion made some very good points. He is spot on. I have sold about 10 Sweptline short box's. The step side seems to be very popular. I have to admit that the flair side looks pretty cool on the 69 to 71 models. (not too shabby on the earlier models either.) Insofar as price goes, the price has spiked at least $1000 upward in just the last 24 months. ) BTW, I am also l

I probably should have broken the question down into a more simple format. #1 383 auto trans and torque converter work with and bolt up to a 440? #2 will the exhaust manifolds from the 383 interchange with the 440? #3 will the 383 motor mounts work on the 440?

It looks like I will be putting a 440 where there was a 383 in a 1968 sweptline 727. So here is what i have waiting,.... A 1968 440 which has all accesories and is very complete. BTW (From a marine application) The replacement 440 has no exhaust manifolds. Complete even to the point of including all fan belts and the harmonic balancer. The complete 440 is at the end of crankshaft. Please

Hey Chris, it appears you have added more description and many more Pictures? Much better? Price subsequently changed a lot for me. Here is a link for others to view the improved ad. I believe it would bring up to 3000.00 dollars even here in the pacific northwest. willing buyer perhaps more. Nice and better described truck.!! way to go! Gordo

Hey Chris, I do not know the Galveston Texas values. I know the pacific northwest values and that 64 pictured would come in around 6000.00 less in this area. I am however sure that they sell for more in Texas. Hope this helps. Gordo

I used the key "hot when switch on on to activate it and ,.yea. "immediate charging" But this next comment may save time for next person. Alternator on bench showed charge so I knew it was good. So I figured to replace VR,. I did and it still did not charge. I then looked further and found zero volts to hot terminal side of VR. A quicker fix than new hot lead. I found i

Thanks Mark. I am just planning to activate it to find if "all systems are a go" Then I will use "brail and pain" to fix it right.! Just did not want to send 12 vplts to it till I knew if that is correct amount of power. Thanks Gordo

1965 D100 "w" one plug alternator and box style voltage regulator. Ok,.. The alternator tests fine. The voltage regulator is new. Here is likely the problem,.. I have zero voltage from key to the V R spade where voltage from key switch wire screws onto the V R box. So I could shag it, chase it down IF,.. if I had better eyesight and a little less Arthritis I would probabl

QuoteGordo I speed read the problem and one comment of several other good ones seemed to pertain to my question. That is,... CONTINUE USING OLDER STYLE VOLTAGE REGULATOR,. I can use the 2 plug alternator from the 1970 providing I bring a wire from the # 2 terminal (grd)and place the other end onto the hold down bolt for VR in the fire wall. Meanwhile making sure firewall has proper ground

I have a 65 D100 and it has a bad alternator. The only alternators I have left are 2 plug ins, as in 70 D100 . (my 65 is the one wire plug in) Is the 2 plug style an ez change over,? Mechanically it lines up and fits fine. I even have a couple of the regulators from a 1970 style triangular VR Gordo

I have a 65 short box rolling frame and I too am interested to have independent suspension. I noticed that the later model short box trucks are only one inch longer. Question,... would I encounter more or less fabrication if I were to use the 115" complete. My 65 short box of 114" would be a donor for the cab and box mounts on the 115" frame. Both are 2 wheel drive.

Awesome for sure.! This truck when finished "IF" offered for sale would no doubt exceed the $$ ever paid for any Sweptline. Likely by a huge amount. This one exceeds.!! I am speculating it will not be for sale any time soon. LOL This crew cab no doubt has most everyone here at attention awaiting finality. Way to go and "power to ya. Gordo

I am not posting this because of price. Nor because this retailer is known to me. I am posting this for identification numbers which this retailer has given for multiple casting id's. It suggests they are interchangeable. About a year or more ago I gave some info which was off by one number as it was unreadable on my casting. I gave the number as 29786C WRONG!! It is 29785C .

(even help with crating for a Reno shipper would be fine) OR,... FLIP SIDE IS,.. If you need your parts from Reno to any part of Washington State. Basically either way will work for us.
