Hope somebody knows the answer to this. Ive got a 67 D100 with a /6 - 727 combo. Ive got a 64 D100 with a poly - 727 combo. Will the 67 /6 bolt directly to the 727 in the 64? I would prefer to swap the engines only and leave the trannies where they are, since one is a 2 cable and the other a single

Ok Norm, I see the difference on threaded holes. When I look at the 727s, the casting is different at the top of the bell, but bolt holes may still be in the same place. It looks like the mechanical clutch /6 bell in your pic has the starter in the same place as a v8. The starter is almost at the top of the bell on the 67 727.
Yes, the darn starters also changed location and number of bolts, 2 vs 3.
I'm sure it's specific by year, I'm just not up to speed on the years. Jeff would be an excellent source of info on those.
