Has anyone ever tried to polish the alum. grill?? Mine, like most, has the coating wearing off. I just wonder if some steel wool, fine sanding paper, or? plus lots of time and patience, could polish the grill to look like chrome??? Thoughts??? Thanks R

Ouch. A grand seems steep.
Of course, plating has been declared evil nowadays, so it's getting hard to even find platers. I guess that runs up the cost.
