Has anyone ever tried to polish the alum. grill?? Mine, like most, has the coating wearing off. I just wonder if some steel wool, fine sanding paper, or? plus lots of time and patience, could polish the grill to look like chrome??? Thoughts??? Thanks R

Well, I started removing the anodized alum from the alum. grill. I was very cautious, starting/testing with very fine steel wool and working up to more course grades , until I got to a grade that will not scratch , but did remove the anodized portion. I then found a small piece of wet/dry 320 paper and that worked great---used it dry. Next back down through the fine to finer grades of steel wool. The final step will be with aluminum polish. I only do about an hour at a time. I have 4 hours in and I think I am ready for the alum. polish. Now the grill will not look like a beautifully chromed grill, BUT it will be a big improvement. AND, I will be happy with!
