ok, so georges comment about masking an underlying problem has been ringing in the back of my head and wont go away. i have been running without the a/c since the issues started, and as of late, its been hot, but the car has been behaving for the most part. still runs hotter then it did before, and

i do have a lower spring, all my spacing on the rad, condensor, etc is factory, and i have all the little rubber flaps that control air flow. no damage to anything, nor are they clogged. if you could see under my hood, everything is where it belongs, and is new or perfect original parts. it is as built in 1968 with the exception of displacement.
