Russ, the rack and pinion steering arms do not connect to the tie rods, those steering arms are connected directly to the wheel spindles. Very simple and effective.
The steering box is the trick. Needs to connect to the Sweptline column and runs to the rack. There is no physical connection from the steering wheel to the rack, it's hydraulic...and that can be a problem as some states require a physically connected steering system.
norm,no steering box needed,just look under the hood of a older dakota,its right there and easy to see,
