the rack is attached to the straight axle, movement happens to all components at the same time, everything moves, the 2002 Dodge trucks have a shaft that has 1 ujoint at the column, then where it attaches to the power rach it has a slip joint, bump steer happens when the steering system has a bind, because the geometry isn't in alignment, have you heard of 2002 Dodge Rams having bump steer? who is it that determines bump steer would be their, I see no steering or suspension engineers? who has actually put any of this in action? So their is no basis for why their is bump steer, instead its a phrase that pops up.
