this is true, but you faulter in that the straight axle is more solid the the cross member, and as mentioned the power rack moves with the axle and wheels, so everything keeps perfect steering geometryQuote

When the axle moves, the rack and pinion will move too. That is if I see this correctly, the rack in the picture is bolted to the axle.
On a ifs Ram truck the rack is bolted to a cross member that does not move.
No steering box on any vehicle moves with the jounce of the suspension. Its always firmly mounted.
Thats why on every rack and pinion conversion kit it comes with a cross member that is mounted solid to the frame and not the axle.
There is no hydraulic assist in between the column and the rack. The lines you see go back to the power steering pump.
