"you don't need that cross member the bell bolts to. you could just shave the rivets and eliminate it all together. the trans cross member alone would be more then adequate. my 70 only has the one at the tail shaft from the factory."
Trey, If you look at your later cross member and compare it to the early ,bolt in style,and then look at the boxed in section at the spring hanger,you may rethink your statement. Why did Dodge go to all this work?
