Ya I kinda remember reading somewhere also that Mopar sending units used the same ohm range for decades. and it wass different than the other guys.

Ok you gusy so which is it? maybe someone has the tech specs giving the Ohm range of the different sending units? I tend to lean towards they are the same. But then they did use 2 differetn style gauges and so maybe the Ohm ranges on round Vs. regular gauges is different............

I built one the same way a couple years ago. works great. i used to work in shops that had professional type pressure bleeders and they are the best way to get air out of any system. And the fastest too. My weed sprayer version works almost as good. The only difference in the proffesional style ones is you can run a bit higher pressure and they have all kinds of fancy adapters for multipl

true . Iused to be in the exhaust biz way back and installed many headers in MOpar cars and talk about tight. you have to disconnect steering parts and run them thru the headers on some! But, if you wanna go fast you need a Mopar

I like the stock ones. last for decades. with the poly headers both designs clear so no problem there. not trying to lose wweight in a dodge truck. they just seem like they would not last as long as stock becasue you have a small part working harder to accomplish the same task.

because WArn probably did not renew the patent. And even if there is a patent he wont sell enough pairs for warn to justify suing him. Warns retainer fee to the lawyers would probably be more than Dans profit. Maybe he does this stuff just to contribute to the hobby more than to make money. they do loook nice!

good point. cars like impalas, darts, galaxies etc from the 60s with a big block or hi out put small block that could rocket propel you donw the road had too small of brake systems. But a full size Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler or Lincoln had 12 inch brakes all around and could stop you quick at any speed. Sorry guys but a 273 super commando powered dart going 135 down the highway cannot stop wit

probalby like you said, "no love for drum" anymore. the issue with drum is not really inferior perfromance. they stop you jsut as fast as disc but at much higher maintenance. Disc are just more trouble free. I f disc was sthat much better then heavy duty rigs would have switched years ago. they mostly still run drum anc can stop 120K flying donw the highway pretty quick. drum has so

I have not had it done but know it is an option now days for over sized drums. I am not in the brake biz anymore. Anybody here know the tech details? I first heard about it a few years back from guy named John the owner of Midwest Military. He sells tons of WW2 and Mseries Dodge parts and I think he actually does this type of welding himself.

HOly crap!! that is the worst drum failure i have ever seen! And I used to perform 1000 brake jobs a year rougly at D&D in Seattle. I think I miss read your first post. I thought you were implying that normaly Chrysler made the drums but they had Budd make those special drums. I read it again and I dont think that is what you were saying now. Sorry. My point was that budd made all the d

that size fo drum was always made by Budd. same size as the FFPWs. not a screw up just a choice of brake design. Assuming that year still runs the 14 & 1/8" shoes. the max daimter would be about 14.215, new would be 14.125 or smaller. worst case you can have them spray welded and machined to new spec.

I like reading these historical posts. I bet they are roling over in their graves now that Dodge trucks are losing the dodge name and dodge cars will soon have italian engines! what a giant mistake. italian engineering has a 100 year reputation of failure. I dont see how that will sell cars even if they do build good engines now. I dont think they grasp how hard americans are on cars. we d

I have run some experimets over the years and the only plugs I have ever seen melt are chumpions. One was in a 440 chrysler marine powered boat. melted the whole center right out of the plug! sounded like a gun shot! in my hopped up flat heads I tried to run champions a few times because they are plated and dont rust liek the autolites and ACs do in the cupped recess of the flatheads. the elec
