The Truck(s) of The Week are from demulsion. The Sweptline in the foreground is listed in the Buy Sell Forum, the rest of his collection just make a really nice composition and a great picture of old Sweptlines.

RATTLES!? WHAT RATTLES?? Oh, sorry I just took out my earplugs.. Just finished changing out all rubber and bolts on a cab and bed, it was "fun". Additionally, I rebuilt all of the bed oak. There wasn't much left of the old parts and old wood.

I don't see a specific kit for the Sweptline, but they claim they can make anything and they come highly regarded by the Power Wagon community. Vintage Wiring

One last add, no matter what you decide to go with, these newer engines will not run or shift to optimum, without utilizing the engine management system, ECU, so if you fins a take out motor, be sure to get the trans and all computer related components.

Just some words of caution on the MB diesels. The early 5 cylinder engines from the Sprinter vans, both Dodge and Merc versions, were excellent motors with exceptional fuel economy, albeit a bit light on power. The later 3.0 Mercs are known as "disposable" engines, that is, they are not affordably or easily re-buildable and parts are very expensive. Unlike commercial grade (Cummins and

Just keep in mind, there is a reason that the OEM's use rubber. It's softer, provides better dampening and is quieter. Poly will be pretty harsh and unlubed Poly will squeak. I'm pretty sure the Lifestyle cabs used the same rear mounts from '72 to 1992. It's worth a look see at your dealer.

The Truck of The Week, once belonged to Gordo. This 318 powered Crew Cab still 'pops' with that trademark Dodge turquoise. Thanks for the flashback, Gordo!

Quote68 Fish Hey guys, Got some questions and updates on my project. To refresh your memory, Im dropping in a 360 in my 65 sweptline. The engine is done and should pull a house of its foundation. Built for low RPM torque to pull my trailer. Ive got the engine bay painted and it shines like a million bucks! Goal is to drop the engine in next month. Here are some questions for you. 1.

I have a 1964 herringbone pattern photo that I can't find. The photo above is of a 1968, herringbone, lighter, but very close.

Quotegaryo The 24v diesel was a nightmare. The old tried and true 360 has been good to me. Now if it would have been a 12 valve, I would have kept it. 8800 lbs max trailer, right on the hitch. Just a word of caution, the hitch may be rated at 8800 lbs (factory hitch?) but that doesn't mean the truck is rated at 8800 lbs. Many factors contribute to provide a manufacturer's towing rat

The Truck of The Week was entered into the Registry as #1346, by an anonymous owner, however it appears to be a very complete 1971 D200, in nice shape.

QuoteJimmieD In a way I confused myself on my reply. One of my worst exeperiences towing was using a '78 D-200 & HD towbar to pull a heavier '77 W-200. The W pushed the D all over the road & thank God I didn't have to go over 25 mph! It was really scary, almost out of control from the minute it was all rolling. So, I think I fed that into my reply. On the other hand I

That's possible, but it's more likely a shift adjustment, or dirt in a fluid passage causing that creep in neutral.

Quoteabajavet Norm, with all the internet research I have done, the a518 is a 727 with a overdrive bolted to it. I cant find a step by step way to do the conversion or have talked to a person that has done it. My problem is that I dont think the newer trans will work with my big block. Also I have to stay non computer because of running propane. Kaegi,..sorry for mispelling your name. Spellcheck

If the overdrive connects at the rear of the trans, it may work for both A & B transmissions as teh tail shafts were similar. How does it connect? U-joint, or in the tail shaft itself?

The Truck of The Week, comes to us from 10 years ago. It's the very first TOTW and it belongs to Jeff Claire. As we start our 10th year, it seemed fitting to remember the truck that started it for many of us who survived from the original Kris Wickstead web page. Thanks Jeff, for being a huge source of Sweptline knowledge.

Higher ratios are possible, but you have to change the carrier. 4.10 was the carrier "split" or "break" ratio. 4.10 and lower use that carrier, 4.10 and higher use a different carrier. All Dana's are set up that way, with the axle type and size determining the carrier break. Talk to someone at Dynatrac, Currie, Randy's, or any gear shop to order the correct carrier

QuoteBNC ...Hey Norm....is there any way that this forum can have a pic page just (ok Terry...) 'specifically' a page devoted to just pics of our trucks??, project truck pics ....how hard would it be to incorporate that sort of thing into the forum??..........BNC If you click on "Photo Albums" in the Main Top Tool Bar, it takes you to the DTA Albums. I have to post the photo
