John, Dana is,or was,a division of Spicer,so its six of one, half dozen of the other. As far as the front being wider than the rear,it needs to be to turn. In many instances, not having your rear wheels in the same track as the front can give you better traction.Maybe that narrow rear axle was a good way to save weight.

As I stated before, you should have no more than 5/64"air gap between the washer and carb body.At full throttle the lever should be resting on the washer that is resting on the carb body. Bend that wire straighter to bring the washer down. The way you are set up now,the plunger isn't deep enough in the bore to pump gas! The plunger seal is likely hung up in the bore. You may need

You should never have your accelerator pump adjusted that high.(too much gap between washer and carb body). Consult your FSM for proper adjustment. If you don't have an FSM one of us with one can look it up.

That's a funny story Gordo! I noticed I had left it when I got home. Luckily I had one from a truck that I parted out a few years ago.It still had a stub of 3" pipe on it.I SOOO lucked out on the exhaust! I went to the muffler shop and bought the last 6' of 3" pipe they had,a muffler, and a generic mandrel bent tail pipe. The crazy part is it was all the right length!I only had

Thanks guys! The engine was a 318 before. It was ok ,but I wanted a little more snort for pulling the goose-neck camp trailer up the grades. I just got those white 19.5s from a new friend,Dylan Robinson(He has a super cool FFPW),in Lewiston. He practically gave them to me! That was just a pic to see how they looked.I put them on Rosanna's truck.and put the black 19.5/G171s off her truck

I had some time off lately,so i finally got around to getting that 383 out of the wife's parking bay!I picked this thing up from Gordo last fall and he said "it purrs like a kitten".Well, after loosing my speedometer needle in the bottom of the dash,I would say it roars like a lion! A lot has been changed already, but here are pics from earlier this week.

Norm, Here is my 2cents.Push the radiator right up close to the core support(like they did with the big blocks). Then you don't need to worry about that piece and you have room for a fan clutch.

Just to add to what Terry said ,P and D 300s could be had with rear brake autos through 1968.Some motor homes used the rear brake auto into the mid 70s,though most of the post 67 ones had B or RB engines and were med. duty.

Wow 200 cords! Here is what I am doing on my d500 dump truck... I titled it with my moms name or mine. She put it on her farmers insurance and I pay it.I save about $300 a year over if I were to put it on my commercial liability policy.Of course,if I used it regulary,it would be on my insurance, but as it is,it gets used 99% of the time on the farm,if at all.
