Most 69s were probably long gone by November. I seem to remember 70s on the showroom floor in September

I am the first to admit I have trouble sometimes comprehending simple written stuff but what I read was how the guages work not the CVR Am I missing something,, ???I am wondering why they pulse, why they lower voltage? do they affect amperage as well and why?? I can assume that surges in alternator output etc need to be controlled but my curious mind wants to know for sure. I got into one of th

Opinions are cheep and plenty and this is mine. I agree about the windings but I wonder about the pulsing signal the control emits. Could it be that direct curent would send the guages over the top or pulsing is to aid in slowing down the sensitivity ?? I don`t know if 6 volt systems used a regulator too??? anybody work on them?? Just my 2 cents but I am happy to see corrections made, it has ha

Don`t remember if you ever confirmed there was a spring in the lower hose. I am wondering about the spacing between the condenser and the rad. that has nothing to do with why it suddenly started but did engine swaps change rads, spacing etc?? The condenser gets hot with the ac on right ?? I am sure you have checked the fins in both for damage, road kill or grasshoppers etc.. I saw the results o

Thats possible,, folks sometimes don`t worry about a little fluctuation when they gotta pay. What exactly do these problem guages do??

Funny,, I switched from Ford to Mopar in 1968. I was one of 3 service advisors for a large dealer and wrote an average of 30 ROs a day. I can remember ONE guy in 3 years complaining of his guage fluctuating slighty at times. I convinced him there was a "force field" set up at times in the correct humidity,at certain battery voltage etc etc etc while my buddy laughed his a$$ off. Even th

Yes I know them as "voltage controls" and when testing your test light flashes as you say. Don`t think I would do well working inside a guage.

Your link showed and took me to the picture, then I was shocked what I saw once I got into your PC,, my goodness do you really go on all those sites ,,Just kidding maybe Phil will chime in. Looks to me like a stock box won`t fit an the box rails so you have to custom build one anyhow. If you have access to some why not just take one and copy it in your dimentions

Trey, I gotta tell ya these kind of posts make me crazy. You repeatedly said the car ran cool.EG "These big barges are notorious for running cool" "I have used the products jimmy showed, but on highly modified vehicles. this one is barely above stock. i think they would make the car run cooler, no doubt. but to me it would just be masking the real problem. something somewhere went

But the poor engineering just showed up in the last 3 weeks???. My point being that too many times I saw customers come in with a problem. They had been upsold lots of fancy stuff that masked the problem. We would correctly diagnose it and fix it. Then came the 5 o clock blues. I would have a customer dancing on my desk becaue of all the money he spent trying to fix it,, not what we did but al

But Jimmie, he shouldn`t have to re engineer the vehicle, it was working fine and I guess there are many more running around that are ok. If I remember there wasn`t much difference between the rad and block temp so a better pump would just be distributing hot water faster. I would take my lazer guage and hunt down a few chevies and see if it is indeed abnormal (Trey said it is). No point in buyi

An easy way to check for a blown gasket or crack is to remove the water pump belt and cap, start cold put it in gear and load it up, have someone watch for bubbles but usually it will blow water out. PS don`t run over the dude looking

I would like to try that lazer thermometer on a vehicle without a problem just to see what the drop is. I am guessing that your temp sender is at the rear of the engine so 10* higher than at the T/stat would be normal. The boiling point with that cap is 253* maybe thats the design???? I agree that the only fix is a bigger rad if those readings are all true

But if you look at the number of views, there were way more hits when it was left in this forum. Numbers don`t have an opinion. I will repeat myself and say the PW forum has the best of both worlds. The item is listed on the main forum for all to click on and a second click takes you to the buy and sell. I don`t know what it is but I just don`t bother looking at the buy sell. I changed my vote t

My eyes automatically go right to the forum topics, I don`t even see the announcements,, guess its just a matter of retraining myself every couple of weeks,,,, once again let me draw your attention to the number of views that took place on stuff for sale before Phil started the new deal. Like Terry said put stuff in front of folks and they will look. The PW forum has the best idea but it is not
