Norm, I am wondering if Jimmies avatar is too political for a Dodge forum.haha I wanted to remind you to put up your political "sticky" too before we get carried away. However with the Government owning Chrysler it may make every post political,,, so sad where it is all going. No more product pride just $$ pride and who can blow the most smoke and "be the most decieving"kinda

You are on my list John, keep the faith. I can relate. I never know if I am healing or too old to heal anymore LOL But if I look back a year or 10 I know I am better than I was. Heck I have had an engine out of a truck going on 3 years and to think I used to replace a crank & bearings in 7 hours ,,, what a joke. Don`t do what I do and beat yourself up about it, look after yourself first, the

Here is a link for vag guage fans also. Personally unless I was diagnosing a serious problem I just do it by ear, heck we only got paid.3 hours for a carb adjustment. haha

Is the choke fast idle cam sticking or set too high? Throttle cable binding or out of adjustment? Also both the mixture screws should be adjusted evenly as in move each one 1/4 turn at a time. I didn`t read the best of the forum but once you get the idle speed fixed & at max rpm start turning them in until the engine starts to miss then back them out 1/4,, remember to do them together so the

Sorry I mis read your post. I am just wondering if the amount of gas perculating out of a carb with a lot of it evaporating getting past the rings would be detectible after just one event. I seem to recall that vehicles with a perc problem were also hard to start hot. Just thought it would be advisable to check the pump before spending a lot of effort on carb problems

"Even with the Edelbrock on now, I'm getting gas in my oil still. I ran the truck for about 30 minutes Saturday. Shut it off, pulled the dipstick, oil smelled fine. Few hours later now that the truck is cooling off, pulled it again then I smelled gas in the oil. Someone told me I need a heat shield" No hard start & getting gas in oill within 30 minutes would have me lookin

Maybe I missed it but did we establish that it is hard to start?? Getting a gas smell in the oil would take a bit of gas. I know peculation is a problem but sometimes we chase the wrong tail.

Sorry I just discovered this thread and had already posted about this somewhere else. I agree the ability to use a credit card would make it easier. Mr Norm doesn`t need to appear to be begging. We should all gracefully contribute with thanks. I don`t know what other forums do other than the PW forum. I do know one CTD site charge a set fee. The dues that were posted on this forum a long time ago

If it starts ok hot check the fuel pump diaphram. But that carb boiling was always a summer problem on big blocks so the spacer may be the answer.
