What Terry said,,, 14.6 means nothing if a diode is screwed,, you need to do an AVR test as suggested,, saw this once a month on average back in the day the answer "well it was putting out 14.2 so it is charging ok" NOT. It may be charging just enough to keep you mobile when not using ligkts etc

I always reffered to the ones that you hit in the centre as "welsh plugs" Wicki says in the USA they are "freeze plugs" So much for net searches as Wiki is guilty of destroying the proper terminology.
