Ditto Norm,,,Myers is the most popular name around here,, had one on a 200 but don`t have it any more. Used them on Ramchargers at the dealerships in the 70s and 80s, no problems.

There was quite a good conversation about core hole plugs but I was surprised nobody said anything about "surge coils". What does the parts book call a clutch line? Its a pet peave of mine as it is with some others on here that names get changed and passed on to an unsuspecting next generation just because someone decides it is a good name. Our whole language, not just automotive is goi

Wise decision Phil. I wasn`t looking to censor the poll thing, just thought it was a moderator tool. Its a horse of a different colour to censor something or just not include itThats as close as it gets.

Thanks Terry, I seldom start a topic so hadn`t noticed it. Don`t know how wise it is to leave that option there with guys like me around haha. I could start all kinds of useless polls and burn up band width since I am so curious.

Jimmie,, it appears to me that the pendulum swings both ways. Terry answered the line question and it appeared you agreed but had to add more info to it. 4000 words later you decided to completely disagree and from your latest posts it appears you slightly agree. It appears to me that you have some desire to appear smarter than him. I am sorry if it hurts your feelings but this is what I see. I a

Maybe those jeepers were engineers. We had a Chrysler truck centre near by and seldom worked on trucks except for the ones the ENGINEERS sent to me.The most prevelant were driveline vibrations. I have to admit there was one I couldn`t fix and sent it to Windsor. I took the engineers to the bar and they didn`t get home till about 5am, had a presentation to do that morning, they were wrecks, sligh

I am still not convinced that simply bending a line in a circle controls hammering or that there is enough hammering in a clutch circuit to worry about,, nor am I convinced that the loop in a steel line in a truck is more expensive than additional rubber lines and fittings. I didn`t think the subject was friction????? What calculation applies to hammering control in the circled line??? I am s

A "loop" in a hydralic system as I know it is not just a bend in a line but more of a parallel circuit. I am curious.

Jimmie, do you KNOW thats why engineers put the loop there or are you assuming it?? You talk like you personally discussed this with the guys of the time and are aware of the internal operations of the Corp. It was a simple question which was given a simple answer. I could assume the loop was there to save money instead of using a rubber line, more fittings etc. especially if the engine has rea

I wanna see the Mopar documentation about coils, hammering etc??????? I don`t think even the Chrysler engineers were concerned about any of that but what do I know,, I have read a lot of wild stuff on this forum. Is nuclear physics next???? haha!!

What Terry said,,, 14.6 means nothing if a diode is screwed,, you need to do an AVR test as suggested,, saw this once a month on average back in the day the answer "well it was putting out 14.2 so it is charging ok" NOT. It may be charging just enough to keep you mobile when not using ligkts etc

I always reffered to the ones that you hit in the centre as "welsh plugs" Wicki says in the USA they are "freeze plugs" So much for net searches as Wiki is guilty of destroying the proper terminology. Maybe core plugs should really be core HOLE plugs, after all they do plug the hole haha,, back to the FSM for correct terminology, the net is full of BS

I have watched as the "real" auto terminology is lost since I got on the net. It`s the first time on one forum I have seen "cranking" and "freeze" plugs used. Just appears to be getting worse. I applaude those who try to correct it as I gave up long ago. Introducing bike and boat terms into it just makes it worse. I do know if a parts guy was asked for a "frost

Grounds are the first on the list,, then ecu, pickup coil rotor is an easy one,, its quick if you have some good parts to switch otherwise it is a lengthy ohm meter thing that Jimmie posted one time,, I always have had good spares laying around for what they are worth it makes for quick diagnostics

I`m not gunna read all that again but I assumed it was lap belts cause you said he couldn`t see them, now I see it is shoulder belts maybe the young dude did see that it was not hanging over your shoulder. I was just surprised how you wanted to attack the kid for doing his job, you are innocent because of the year etc, he wouldn`t have a clue what year it is and you weren`t wearing it so he was

I didn`t say guilty, just that the cop was correct that you were not wearing them. But if you are exempt then why did you do them up? Now if I were the judge I would see that as a bad thing. You must have thought you were guilty to have made such a sneaky deceptive move on this hard working young officer doing his best to serve and protect. Relax Jimmie just funnin with ya

Just an old rumour. I was told it has superiour penetrating power especially on pistons and rings,, it sure can stain a lot so it could be true,, I have a buddy that swears by it,, never had an oppertunity to test it ,,, bought a bigger impact instead

It is common procedure to apply slightly more preload on new bearings, old ones require only finger tight AFTER above procedure.
