I was thinking where the parts package list it as fuel gauge to switch wire, that where it is connected to the wiper switch instead. Could be correct, due to it is the same wire on the wiper switch, which goes to the voltage limiter.......

Ya, I know the wiring in the picture appears like you said, but the Parts manual specifically states the wire goes from the switch to the fuel gauge on the model 83 heater........ I'll draw in the ground on the diagram, the black and red are both power wires. I assumed high and low off the resistors??? or does it just have one wire going to the blower? I just took a guess.....is it a red wi

Ok, been trying to find info on the heater wiring and this is what I have come up with so far. As we all know with the truck heaters, they were accessories and based on this, there are no specific wiring diagrams per the heaters in the early years, 61-67. The heaters were ordered as a Heater Package and they came with all the necessary items to install it in the truck. Just a guess, but would im

I looked in my manual and it instructs you to put the felt washer below the air horn between the spring and the air horn and the metal washer on top of the air horn.

Allen, The pump rod spring and felt washer go into the air horn from the bottom side and metal washer go on the top side of the air horn. Exactly the way you have it laid out in the picture, with the air horn between the metal washer and the felt washer. I can't remember if there is a sleeve that fits into the hole on the air horn to keep the spring centered on the air horn hole or if it f

I would tend to believe that it should go to the wiper switch, being that for two reasons. The wiper switch has the extra terminal and the heaters were optional equipment in the earlier yrs and weren't standard equipment in a base truck until 1968.

Pretty cool story on the truck. Those fender extensions were aluminum originally, interesting. A dealer modified Camper Special, pretty cool.

That looks like it's going to the ignition switch in fig.5. My 65 manual, doesn't show fig.5, so your manual is one up mine.

It is interesting that the service manuals don't show any wiring diagrams for the heaters, except in the HD trucks. That is very bizarre. I know the heaters in the early trucks were optional, but you would think they would cover it in the manuals. Sounds like I'm going to have to create a diagram for this to put up on the site for future reference. I just bought a 61, 67 and the 68 su

I looked at my 68 and I have a fuse block unlike yours, but the fuse is labeled heater. The wipers are connected to the heater circuit and the heater feed is connected to the wiper switch. It is a 20A fuse for both, so I would say that your heater should be connected to your wiper switch and it should be a 20A circuit breaker protecting both.......

Terry, I don't think there are any. The Gen III Hemi manifold/headers are a shorty type design and exit pretty close to the same as a stock manifold.

Being that the heaters were optional in the early years, my guess would be that it was most likely connected to the wiper switch. Without putting an amp gauge or meter on the line, to see what kind of draw is being put on the circuit, it will be tough to tell whether or not the breaker is bad or not???? I would go and pickup a cheap slide on ammeter to see what kind of draw your wiper and heate

The last I heard, Dan Mininger had purchased Norm's W200 from Girard PA. I think he had posted on the Power wagon forum about buying and hauling it home. But haven't seen anything more on it.
