I just bought a set of those in the last 3 weeks. Thought I had the # but I recycled all the packaging and it just went out last Thursday. I have a pretty good parts place I use and they had no trouble finding what I needed. In fact the somewhat (way) younger fella knew exactly what I was looking for and found it right away.

Well worth the stop weren't they? Unfortunately that unforeseen little incident in Managua screwed up my smeller and affected my taste so much the RR doughnuts will never be the same. Still, a small price to pay in light of what the outcome could have been. Glad you enjoyed them and hope you are having a great trip!

I picked up one walking around one of the wrecking yards last summer while Rick was crushing a load for me. Not sure what diameter it is since I never measured. I like the job partly because I get to do that.

Well for once you're right, Terry. The 23 spline didn't start until the '69 models but you might be smart to change it. The 10 spline seems hard to find and I have been told at the local clutch shop I use it is no longer available. I think the 435's are pretty much the same throughout production after the spline change but I wouldn't stake my life on that. Not sure

Mine has 4.10 gear with 33" tires and it was a real pain to start in second even empty. Any kind of load was worse.

I didn't like my close ratio behind a 383.

Thanks Russ, I have had some issues at home to take care of so I can go and thought it may not happen. I believe that is all worked out and I plan to attend. Will be at Benning from Monday the 25th until the next Friday. Parker called a couple nights ago and I think he will go to Atlanta to see his Mom on Friday so I will have to work around seeing his mother, likely that day or the next. Not

I got the e-mail but that was directed at Russ about being in his neck of the woods. Sorry, I should have made that more clear. I will be @ Ft Benning the end of the month for a reunion with my old Battalion buds from VN. One lives near Atlanta and so does the mother of another. I chatted with her a while back and she made it real clear I better not go without visiting her. She is 92 and a r

Russ, Don't they act like that if air is in the system? I've not ever had issues with any PS I've had but it seems I've read others have had a similar issue and it was air. BTW, I am going to be in your neck of the woods the end of this month. Would love to get together again with any other guys around town.

Steve, My W200 drives far better than my '01 Ram diesel, and I just put new tires and converted to the HD T steering setup on the Ram. PW doesn't drive as well as the '02 Durango but still drives really well. It has not even had any of the steering joints replaced. They are still all original. Dad was good about greasing stuff real often and it shows here. Not too good with

Fish, I pulled my '67 and '68 operator's manuals out of my files and here is what is written about the hood opening. The '67 manual states, "full width hood opens to a full 90 degrees for engine accessibility." The '68 manual reads the same except the 90 degrees is changed to 70 degrees. From what I have seen it appears if the hood opens more than either o

QuotewideblockRuss Roth, I priced the braided stainless on my last one. after I quit gasping for air I decided if the plain rubber lasted 40 years that was good enough for me. not to mention todays rubber lines are far superior to what they had when the truck was made. LOL. You are right, not cheap. I think the line cost $27 over 10 years ago, plus a fitting to hook it up.

Quotewideblock any decent hydraulic shop can remake the hose. i have had numerous ones made. tractor shops have done the best job for me. no the ends are not exactly factory, but they thread on and seal just like they are supposed to. I did away with my original gauges and replaced them with Isspros and did the same thing. Had a nice stainless braided line made but was not exactly cheap. Fig

I got mine from the dealer. This was over 10 years ago so things may have changed. Just got them for a '73 since I had owned one and they looked the same. Actually I was able to get the smaller part for the '67 and had to order the bigger half for the '73. Same thing, but because our rigs are too old Chrysler did not update the part #. I believe it may be as Norm stated, the s

The '68 and up hoods don't open 90*. I think those later hinges only allow 70* or so. I believe it says so in the '68 owners manual that I have somewhere.

Most MSD units are milti spark below 3,000 RPM. I use the same plugs but with a slightly wider gap. Some say (especially MSD ) their rig runs better. I don't really feel any difference. You also missed the coil and rev limiter. Significant expense if you need/want those features.

I'm not knocking the Chrysler system as I have had them for years nor do I even know anything about the PerTronix as I have never been around them. However, that is not exactly a fair comparison as the PerTronix system includes a whole lot of things the Mopar one does not. It includes a multi spark unit with multi spark capability through all RPM, a coil, and a rev limiter plus the plug wir

Latest Summit catalog I received just a few days ago, page 79, "PerTronix complete ignition systems." $549.95. Includes distributor, coil, ignition box and plug wires.

Although it has been a lot of years, I'm pretty sure our '57 TWPW was a manually operated clutch and not a hydraulic.

I used Painless for mine. No complaints as I got it very cheap. Tech support has been excellent. I would certainly check into all available options.

Do you have a local spring shop? I've had springs re-arced to a lower arch to lower cars before and seemed to work fine. Not real expensive years ago when I had it done. Might be different now but worth a check.
