Ah yes Terry, that's more like it. You are correct, Steve. The 8' bed was dealer installed to fit a slide in camper the original owner already had. A quick Google search turned up an online archive of the article:

It wasn't too bad, but I didn't get any better mileage than my brother, so I left them on coming home...

No, he's not much for the internet as I recall. Dan K. in Olympia, WA. Good eye on the dually rear. I mis-spoke in my first reply. The fender extensions and hub adapters were part of an aftermarket kit. I found the magazine he gave me. It is the May/June 2014 issue of Vintage Truck. There is a seven page spread on it.

Some of you guys might like seeing a few pictures of the wheeling trip my brother and I took over Christmas break. We hauled our rigs from Seattle area, down to Moab, UT and spent several days wheeling. It was quite a change from the muddy trails we are used to, but we had a ton of fun! My old Sweptline went everywhere I asked it to. The traction was incredible, just point and go. Pretty fun crui

I have seen that truck in person, it's every bit as nice as it looks in pictures. The owner is a nice guy who likes the unusually optioned medium duty trucks. I think he has two or three of those factory step side dually Sweptlines, as well as several other cool old trucks in various stages of restoration. I think he gave me a magazine with an article on that truck. I'll have to see if

I was keeping my 94yr old grandmother company this evening, by watching a little TV with her. I got rather excited when a Dominos pizza ad came on, and there was a red 67-68 Sweptline in it! The ad is all about their "superfans", and lists the fellow in the truck as Glenn S from PA. If anyone knows who he is, he appears to be in the market for a dashpad. (:

I believe it was an option 61-67, and then they dropped the small window for 68.

Cool history! My first truck was a 68 D200 with a 318 as well, and the rest is history. I'm up in Bremerton, let me know if you need any parts. Oh, and small world, my grandparents are down in Forest Grove, not to far from your truck.

Hey Gordo! It was a lot of fun to bench race with you for a couple hours. I hope your towing adventure was uneventful. It was cool to hear the follow up on a sweptline I'd been watching on craigslist, too. I hope it works out well for you, sounded like you got a bargain! It was a great Mopar day for us, after meeting up with you ended up we running up to Monroe ato pick up several 440 cor

Value is a pretty varried topic. It depends a lot on how much rust there is, as well as the area you live in (prices are way lower out here on the west coast) and well, like anything else, how bad someone has to have it. A shortbed will always bring a little extra money. Some guys like the 69-71 less (dash, grill, and hood are a bit different), but it's totally a presonal preferance thing. C

13. Part #?
I've never aquired a parts book like I should have... Anyway, does anybody with one mind looking up the part # for the front sway bar on a 69-71 for me? Thanks.

QuotePwrWgnDrvr What is the star thing in the center of the grill? Ive never heard of, or seen that. Wish I had a picture of it... There was a guy across town years ago that had a grill with it. I guess I can't guarentee it was factory, but it sure fit as if it was.

I'm familiar with the 69-71 hood fratzog as I have one on one of my trucks. I've also seen the four pointed star medalion that went in the center of the grill on a 68/69. But I'd never seen the above hood ornament before. All of them that I have seen have holes instead of the black, just like what franky linked to.

The 70's era truck tanks are a very nice swap, and I'm about to put a Ramcharger tank where the spare tire was (can't put a 37" tire there anyway...). 70's and 80s van tanks fit there too. Here's how I did the pickup tank swap on my 2wd (haven't tried it with a 4x4 tank yet):

I had RedHead build me a manual box for my Dart, and specifically requested that they NOT paint the alluminum housing. The front desk lady even put me on the phone with one of the managers/owner? to try to talk me out of it. Then when I got there to pick it up, they hand painted it anyway! Six months later, the paint started pealing... Wish they would have listened to my request. So now it steers

I believe 61-68 should all fit, though potential issues with hose locations based upon different motors. Can you measure your truck's mounting holes and also shroud mounts, and then measure them against the '65 radiator to double check?

Yes it's possible. I think Doug in Idaho had a '67 set up with it, and I sold parts to a guy last weekend who said he'd removed the factory setup from his '66 Power Wagon. What are you looking to accomplish by adding power steering? The factory style was very vauge feeling to drive, and was quite leak prone. If you aren't afraid to fabricate, I've seen newer Dodge bo

How direct-bolt-in are you looking for? Everything is going to need some sort of modification to mount. Several guys have used seats from late model Ram or F150 trucks that have integrated shoulder belts. You have to be careful with those, though, as lots of them have the lockup part connected into the computer, so it takes some monkeying around with electrical to get them to work properly. Myse

Yep, '61-'68 W100s used the same axles as the W200s. The easiest way to get disc brakes is to swap in a complete axle from a '74-'93 W200. Some years are full time, some years vacuum actuated, etc., so do some research (I don't have my notes handy). I haven't really looked, but I doubt there's anything in the way of a disc brake conversion for the big knuckle fr

To replace an alternator with one field wire, with an alternator that has two field wires, simply ground one of them to the alternator case (either one).
