I like the separate Buy/Sell section for several reasons. Organization is one, keeps things all together under one easy to find topic, with topics separated by purpose. If a person is looking to buy a truck, parts or whatever they don't have to go nuts clicking back through post after post and then into archived posts to try to find it: they can just click on the Buy/Sell button & there it is.

Example: A post in a single-section forum titled, '69 Sweptline Crew Cab' could be a question about the master cylinder, or somebody saw one parked in Toledo, or it was just stolen, or maybe it's for sale, but who knows until you click on the post & read it? Saves a lot of wasted time & energy to simply look in the For Sale forum section right from the jump.

There's many of us still stuck on dialup with no hope of cable coming to our area, ever. It takes a huge amount of time to click on post after post after post looking for something, without those 1/2 second page transitions of DSL. What takes 10 minutes of cruising on DSL may take 45 minutes to 1 hour or more on dialup. Anything to categorize section topics is a big help, like the new Buy/Sell section.

Every other vehicle or fabrication forum I know of uses a separate Buy/Sell section so there's not just one big stack of electronic pages stuffed in a box. The basic purpose of a computer and the internet is information storage & retrieval, as an electronic file cabinet. If you've ever worked with a bad filing system that has folders mis-labeled, stored in the wrong place etc. you see what a headache it can be. Same with the internet, you have to correctly label and store files for rapid retrieval.

What works best is labeled electronic 'drawers' as the separate sections, with labels on the individual 'files' so you can quickly thumb through with your mouse and waste the least amount of time. It's a whole lot quicker & easier to access than one large pile of files stacked one on top of the other stored in one area only.

So far the large majority of users like the new format with the many additional features and the ease of use, compared to the stark & clunky old forum. It has a whole new look & feel that's much more user friendly, with many more options and a very good software package. I also notice a lot of new names so membership has gone up, along with a lot more participation and posting action. It seems to be a great success according to all the positive feedback.

It's not about comparing this site to other sites, but about what this site has to offer, which is a nice software environment, excellent organization, easy access, a full featured format and plenty of added bells & whistles. For that I say good job!
