I see the poll is way in favor of categorizing the forum. But more interesting, are the comments posted on the subject. Of those who are willing to express an opinion about it, it runs 5 to 1 AGAINST a separate forum. The negative comments make very valid points. What are the reasons FOR it? All th

we're talking about trucks and if one forum starts down the path of what another topic-related forum is already doing then comparisons are an easy slippery slope.

comparisons such as which software is easier to navigate and use, which one is more appealing, etc., etc...

i for one like both forums as it is more about community - specifically the people and personalities associated with the trucks.

like i said in my vote against a separate buy/sell forum - the redeeming quality of this forum is its simplicity. i like both forums for their differences - Scott's for its depth of organized buckets of topics and multiple moderators, and this one for its previously established long list of topics in one long thread.

change is good but only if it is for the better and it has a purpose or addresses something missing in the "market place".

Ben

PS - for the record i like both forums as they are and how they have evolved over the years.

Once again I don't see what Scott's site has to do with this forum or thread topic? We're talking about this site's features, not Scott's. The huge changes here at this forum have been enthusiastically welcomed by everyone to date, with a very few exceptions. The old software here was far out of date and far too elementary when much better and more user friendly stuff is available, such as what we now see.

Indivudual likes & dislikes regarding this forum are seen in the subject Poll of whether people like the new 'Buy/Sell' section or they don't. Seems that all this negative conversation is by a few that are unhappy with the results of what the much larger majority of users in this community like. The vote is clearly in favor of having the Buy/Sell forum topic area, chosen by over 2:1 in the votes.

Only 7 people left additional comments. Out of those 7 comments 2 were for it and 5 against so it seems most thought that a simple vote on the Poll, instead of additional comments, were all that was needed. Additonal comments or additional threads on the issue won't change the numbers.
