All of my trucks have had loops in the steel lines, my W200 also had a rubber portion on the brake master cyl line, just below it.
Here's an old pic of the underhood of my '68 D200, evident are the dual coils below the dual brake master cyl, and the coil just off the clutch slave cylinder is visible also. I don't think any of these lines aren't original to the truck. It seems pretty obvious to me that these coils are there to make the lines flexible...
