I don't think you should have to play forum cop, and I wouldn't want to see anyone banned or threads locked. I would just like for the people here to think about what they are saying before they post it. Theres no need to get into an argument and keep a thread going when you don't agree with the original post, and definitely no need to try to make someone else look foolish or stupid. Like politics or religion, some arguments just can't be settled with both parties agreeing so it's better to not start the argument in the first place.
I've been here since the original Sweptline forum and never had such negative thoughts about the forum as I have now. Over the years I've disagreed with people and had them disagree with me but neither of us got mad and started flaming each other. I hope this will return to normal soon and this petty bickering will stop before others feel like I do and go away.
