I would suggest following the instructions of your topcoat provider. Like use all their products from start to finish. Etcher, primer, filler etc. Then you are sure they are all copatible.

Thanks Ben, I will keep that in mind if I bomb out at one of my old dealership. I know the stuff there was complete up till 81. Never know what else I could dig up, like sales info FSMs etc. Would like to see if any of my old techs, bodymen, or maybe even office girls (haha)are still around.

Got moderated out of that thread before I could respond to your post. I didn`t realise bulletins had become available on ebay (seldom go there). Don`t know if a guy could pay "too much" It will be a 2500 mile trip for me to get my hands on them if they are still there.

Matt, from what I have seen primer does not seal like a topcoat. I think it can absorb like bondo. I ran a body shop in a cold damp part of the world and saw rusted primer, lots. I would think once you sand to the bondo a visual would answer the question.

So nobody get their shorts in a knot. Be careful Jim, someone may ask for proof that Chrysler engineering is "THE BEST IN THE WORLD". You may be shocked at how many problems are fixed in the field by dummies like me with no eng degree, which brings up the subject of service bulletins. I intend to contact a couple of old dealers and the Chrysler regional service manager here in Canada

It was not uncommon in the seventies to build super rads for mopars, especially big blocks with a towing package. It was enough of a problem that the Chrysler rep and I ended up smashing a block open because there were traces of core sand. We found blockage but keep in mind these were new low miliage units. A week later we had one with the same symptoms. Mr Mopar said don`t waste time, stick a s

Like I said in 100 words or less ,,just trying to see the issue resolved and believe it or not smooth things over with Jim and Terry, they are BOTH super knowlegable guys. I know better than to post an opinion here unless I say it is just that. I have been called on stuff too.

Thanks Russ,, I don`t want to do a replay of the thread but it supports my feelings about correct auto world terminology. If you said "I cranked her up" I would assume the engine to be now running, however if you said you were "cranking the engine" I would assume you were turning it over with the starter. Not a big deal, I knew what you meant.

Hey Russ, as I recall the "cranking" topic I believe you did get worked over a bit and there is no need for that. No one likes to be belittled or made feel stupid. If someone posts something that no one else on the forum can understand I think they should be able to back it up in laymans terms. I have been flamed many times but not so much on this forum. I have no grudges with anyone

Beemr, that was my observation as well. I see many trucks with the circled brake line. If it produced what the Nissan "loop" did it sure wouldn`t be good in a brake system. From what I read about the ricer system it is just a problem, but it is a separate circuit. I have no idea where the lines in the pic go or what type of material they are (expandable?). I also admit I don`t know ever

If I do have a theory it is partially shown here. Here is a little understandable info on what I know about hydraulics and hammering etc including a bit about "names" I aint doing a copy and paste cause I have fear of. Seems odd it is so easy to find info on real hydralic dampners but none on pipe bending applications. I am still open minded though ,,,believe it or not

"I thought you said loops couldn't absorb hammering? In the paragraph above you say they can? But why is it I who's confused on this issue and the correct terms, when I'm the one who described years of schooling, study, research and hands-on experience?" I tried to describe the difference in a true hydraulic loop (TOTALY SEPARATE CIRCUIT)and a single circle in a piece

Jimmie, that Nissan thing is a bad example as at least I can`t see where that other line goes to for sure and who knows if the writer is using correct terminology. The word "surge" gets confusing because a rad surge tank is truly a surge tank but vented where a hydralic loop (not a circle in the tubing but a separate circuit as I described)cannot be vented or the system would be render

That vehicle uses a true hydralic loop as I know it, not just a bent line. It has a separate circuit to absorb surge or "hammering" possibly it incorperates a diaphram or spring loaded piston like in an auto tranny to accomplish this or just goes to a chamber with air in it that will compress yet hold pressure. That article doesn`t do it for me but thanks.
