this is not on a dodge, but its a cooling system all the same and i am at my wits end. its on my 68 chevy (pardon my language) anyway, its a 68 bel air, 350 engine bored 30 with a mild cam, edelbrock intake and carb, and a/c, other then that there are no mods. the car came with a 327, and a/c btw.

If it didn't have the problem before the fan clutch, and that's the only change, and the problem started after, then...? Sorta points at the fan clutch.
Did you check that lower return hose as I mentioned, to see if it's collapsing? Did you put a new spring in it, or did it come with a new spring?
And yes, plug's heat range can make a huge difference, even up to destroying an engine & melting pistons under extreme conditions.
Read it again Jimmie. It says "the only thing new on it SINCE..."
SINCE means AFTER. The fan clutch went on AFTER the problem started.
Please explain how the plug heat range melts pistons?
Trey, u stated above that ALL the parts pre-date the problem. That would mean u haven't checked them ALL to see what may have failed and caused the problem? Specifically, have u removed the water pump and checked the impeller?
