i agree, you havent effectivly increased the cooling capacity, but being a controled flow thru the core, you have made it better. water is going to flow the path of least resistance. as it goes thru the core there will be a definate "current" if you will that the water will follow making the rest of the core pretty much useless. you only have a 1.5 inch water neck feeding it, and the core has sufficiently more volume then that can supply, so it only makes sence a path would be formed not useing the entire area. yes it all gets mixed in sooner or later, but to me, just my take on it...if its sectioned off, and the flow is better controlled to take advantage of the useable cooling surface area better, then you would get a cooler exit temp of the water and coolant back to the block. do i make any sence to anyone else, or once again just myself?? maybe im confused, who knows at this point.
