In no way endorsing any of Obama administration policies but lets stick to facts, not fiction.
Wall Street? The bailout happened under Bush, Paulson and Co. That's when they needed 700 billion (the "official" figure, to keep from going under.
The slimeballs at Wall Street are doing just fine now, reporting profits and handing out huge bonuses as usual. No personal comment on my part, just a casual observation.
Insurance Companies? They've got the govt in their back pocket, pray tell an ignorant dolt like me who actually reads a variety of news for an hour a day HOW, just HOW has "he" screwed up insurance companies?
No comment on the Auto Industry , just as outraged and sick about it as the next guy, but as Jimmy said, WTF are we allowing this stuff to go on? People in other countries revolt over a lot lesser stuff... WHY are we also giving Billions to these auto companies so they can close down US plants and re-open them in China, or wherever? WHEN the F are we going to sart making our own bolts, light bulbs, lets not even talk about steel. The principle element of corruption here is GREED, and it seems to be able to "reach across the isle" just fine.
GM? They didn't think a hybrid was worth pursuing, and bought Hummer instead, then gas went up over $4 a gallon, nevermind the usual insane CEO compensations...
Healthcare? It's called an industry for a reason, and we all know how it's not messed up right now... Americans spend TWICE as much as as any developed nation on earth for healthcare and we have a mortality rate higher than Cuba... (and 29 other nations). Anyway, regardless of the confusing mess that's going on right now (and I totally applaud whackjobs on Medicare for showing up at town hall meetings with M16's) out of fear that the "government could ruin healthcare" as we know it now, I have yet to see how the Obama admin's pandering to the big pharmaceutical corporations is going to make it even worse, or radically change it... Lets' see, single payer (gee, like Medicare...) is already off the table, and so is bargaining with the drug companies. Does that sound like CHANGE to you? The biggest ongoing socialized medicine program in the USA is in the MILITARY, you're taken care of, or supposedly... but that's the idea.
Cash for Clunkers is ridiculous, and scary... but there is a lot of other more costly (or lucrative, depending on how you look at it) programs out there, like Iraq. We're spending (someone's pocketing) TWELVE BILLION A MONTH there, for 130,000 troops (plus an equal amount of "contractors")that are sequestered to bases? Give me a freakin break, and since they're pretty much kept to base, why aren't any coming back?
Enough political crap already, I though it was kept to a different part of this forum, so off topic for this post... but I have to wonder (no offense to anyone here) WHEN did an '85 Dodge pickup become a "Classic"???
Are you kidding, that's some of the worst garbage Chrysler ever made, quite possible worse than anything made in the 70's. Same goes for Chev and Ford, 80's stuff I wouldn't own, PERIOD, but that's just my personal opinion.
