Sweptline Showcase

Thanks, Russ! This is really bugging me because of my '69.
What bugs me is the '69 was just your garden variety Dodge truck, low mileage, fairly well maintained by the state or feds & nothing wrong with hinges. Also to my ragged memory all my Swept hoods did this, or else I'd know that some do, some don't, just like I've learned other stuff about these trucks.
There's a positive stop on hinges of both trucks mentioned, but it only happens when hood is all the way open to very near the windshield. Like your Sweptline hinge there, one lever comes up against a flat face stop and this is when hood is vertical. Then push hood farther and spring gives some more and hood moves back a little father, over-center from vertical.
On the Townie the hoods opens to about 5 1/2" from cab upper leading edge. '69 D-200 was about the same, maybe a bit more distance from cab/windshield, but beyond vertical and over-center.
I see there's still lots more travel before that hinge hits the stop, and the hood travels farther than the hinge lever in radius from the pivot point, so maybe over a foot or more travel left for that hood.
In the pictured hinge, how far is that hood opened?
