The simplest way to go is find a 68 or earlier 318 car with power steering that is being parted. It will have the corect pump/brackets/pulleys/belts. If you get parts of a newer rig you may need to do some mods,as the water pump changed in 69.

Quoteswptln Dave, As far as I know the swap should be a direct swap. The FPM shows both transmissions using the same front bearing retainer, bearing and seal, clutch release bearing, clutch disc, etc. Keep in mind this is for 69-71. Ma Mopar changed the part numbers for the clutch and the front bearing retainer for 69-71 on the 435 vs the 67-68. They also used a one piece ball bearing up

Gordo, here is an overdrive solution... If you have 587 ratio out back,i don't think an od will be enough to get you up to speed. You may consider a 488 or 456 ratio swap instead. Doug

Per, A piece of angle iron run down to the bolt hole in the top of your tranny x member helps keep the box and frame from twisting. This picture was my first attempt using 1/8 thick ,2" angle. The next truck, I used 3/16" thick 1 1/2" angle and didn't need to do all of the funky notching to clear the box. Good luck Doug

If you are talking about a 60 rear axle,I would venture to guess @ 400 lbs, maybe as little as 350 with an open carrier and 2x12 brakes. I once bought a dana 70 rear from Gordo that he loaded by himself BY HAND ! With one dually wheel and tire on each side!

Hi Gordo.! I have had problems with corroded fuse holders for the black wire that feeds 12 volts from the ignition switch to the voltage regulator.Do you have 12 volts at voltage regulator on this black wire when switch is on? Doug

1. You should be ok with your early 440 using the 383 converter, see link... 2 you can use the 383 manifolds, but the later 400'440 truck manifolds flow better ... 3 The 383 motor mounts will work on the 440 I hope you are doing well,Gordo!

Hi John, Dodge uses a 23 spline coupler between tranny and transfer case.Chevy used 10 spline on older(late 60s into the 70s) You can't use ANY other transfer case with your present tranny. If you want to get away from the 203,you should look for a married couple... Transmission/transfer case. Doug

Weren't you listening? The starters are the same, with the exception of the 318 starter mounts with 3 bolts and the big block starter mounts with two.
