Put on some newer rims/used 35" Nitto M/T's from the 2005 and up Power Wagons: Had to install longer wheel studs in the front (Chevy Dana 60) and 1/2" wheel spacers to clear the tie rod end and shock at full crank. Need to invest in some new tires. Debating on 37's as they would clear without a problem but 35's would probably be best (less wear on everythi

Yea it takes a lot of work to get those frames beefed up. Diesel power is addictive and you cant have enough. I'm getting the urge for bigger injectors and turbo(s) real soon on top of what I've already modified. Let me know if you end up wanting to go with the 6BT. Here's the link to my Cummins crew cab build thread if you haven't seen it: Sweptline Forum '65 W200 1

Finally got a chance to do a little work on the '64 W200. Rebuilt all the brakes and converted all drums to right hand threads with new studs. Threw on the Michelin Xl's for now. The 340 will need a tuneup down the road. Found a large knuckle Dana 44F from a '64 W200 crew cab to put under the front. Here are some pictures: Rob

Thats a nice rig Franky. Glad to see you are still around! Been watching that truck on craigslist for a while. I've got another '96 p-pumped 6bt sittin in the garage. Diesel power is awesome! Really would like to put the NV4500 setup behind the 340 in my red W100. Rob

The synchros "line up" gears in order to shift smoothly. Without synchros you would have to "double-clutch" or be good at meshing gears at the right RPMs. Going from 1st to 2nd in the NP435 would allow you to shift right into 2nd gear when you push in the clutch. Going from 1st to 2nd in the NP420 would likely grind when shifting gears. In both transmissions, 3rd and

I've bought several electronic ignitions from Summit Racing but can't seem to find them on Summit any more. Jegs still has them: Jeg's 318 Electronic Ignition Conversion The NP420's have a cast iron top cover while the NP435's have an aluminum cover and have a synchronized 2nd gear. It would be a good idea to find some locking hubs for the front if you plan to drive

Found the correct dipstick, put the viscous fan back in and took out the old electric fans that don't keep up on a hot day (the mechanical fan works great...temp never goes above 190 with a 180 thermostat). New LarryB adjustable overflow valve.

I have an irritating rattling noise that is coming from the NV4500. The noise is very noticeable at high RPM in 4th gear and in 5th after you let off the throttle. Sounds like there is a lot of slack between the gears or something of that nature. The NP205 is fresh with new bearings and the two piece driveline is rebalanced with all new 1410 u joints. I put the rear end on blocks and got it up to

Yea it drops a little. It was a stepside earlier in its life so I need to make the frame extensions to make up for what Dodge cut off. Thats next on the list. Other than that the bed worked out great. Thanks again. Rob

First road/off road trip with the Cummins went great. Drove up to the Power Wagon Rally in Hollister, Ca (about 250 miles round trip). The truck handled like a dream (at least compared to what I'm used to), brakes worked great and it had plenty of power. Had a great time at the rally. 4WD worked great as well. Here are some pics:

Finished the steering: Mounted the box to the frame, installed the crossover arm and welded up the draglink. Everything fit perfect and I didn't need to bend the draglink. Bled the brakes and now just need to get the correct hydraulic fittings to hook up to the power steering box. Next up : wiring.

Got some work done today. Mounted the brake and clutch master cylinders. Shortened the steering column and shaft, squared off the end to fit the telescoping linkage and found a bearing to support the shaft. Next up wiring, fuel linkage, and crossover steering kit.
