Finally got the truck into the garage. Got the dash in and some of the wiring hooked up along with the gauges. Been working on the 440. The engine has been sitting for a while so I'm replacing the gaskets and making sure there are no major problems before take off. Got the engine mostly back together and painted.

Been putting together this truck with parts laying around. Soon to have a 1978 440 with auto 727 transmission. Hopefully get it running soon. I pulled the exhaust manifolds and found a bunch of acorns shoved up into the exhaust ports. Rob

Should be around 16 gallons. I think some of the later 60's and early 70's tanks were 18 gallons. Rob

We bought the truck late last year and have just been trying to get it road worthy. The trans sounds as though it was worn out and it liked to pop out of third gear once and a while. We pulled a 435 trans out of another truck we had and installed it yesterday along with a new/rebuilt pressure plate and 12" clutch. The old clutch looked fine but a new one came with the pressure plate. The pre

The pressure plate surface that rubs on the clutch was out of alignment. One side was flush with the bolt holes on the pressure plate while the opposite side was down from the bolt holes about a 1/4". Rob

We are just changing to the 420 trans so that we can get the truck driveable. We will possibly get the 435 rebuilt and put back in. I drive my '62 W100 with NP420 and am used to it now. I think we're going to pull it back apart today and check out the pressure plate. Thanks for the suggestions. Rob

We are having problems getting the hydraulic clutch to work on our '65 W200 with 383. The NP435 that was previously in the truck was very worn and we had a NP420 laying around in the garage so we decided to switch to the 420. I rebuilt the clutch master and slave cylinders and they are working good. When pressure is put on the clutch pedal it immediately pushes the rod out of the slave cylin

My Dad and I went on a little road trip on Saturday and picked up a 1964 W200 Crew Cab Power Wagon. The factory extended the wheel base from 146" (standard crew cab short bed wb) to 156" to make a Crew Cab long bed. The previous owner said it came with a stepside bed which was taken off and replaced by a custom built flatbed. The motor is a 318 Poly. It has the 3500 lb Dana 44 with the

Finally got the Thermoquad carb rebuilt and so far it's running much better. The passenger primary on the carb still whistles. We have been having problems with the electric fans not coming on. When you turn the key on the fans run but after you start the motor they shut off. Then you have to quickly turn the key off and then back on to get them running while the motor runs. The brakes als

I was looking at the front fenders on our W200 CC and found that someone cut the front of the fender-well and moved it forward. I found a 384 stamped on the driver fender where the spot welds are along the inner fender. I believe it was an ex-military truck. Maybe the miltary had them specially made???? Rob
