(So what did u sign at the DMV to get a new title? I bet there is fine print that u are not in compliance with and u perjured yourself.
For example, did u state and certify that the original document was "lost"? I also bet u damn well didnt tell the DMV u sold the car, u were paid in full, the title wasn't transfered, the car was impounded and now u want to "get it back".)
actually i did tell them what was going on and why i needed a new title as a matter of fact. i got a replacement title, did not file for lost title. dont ask me the details, i dont know them, but somehow its different. i was also told by the dmv that i am responsible for the parking citation, and any fees that would accumulate as long as the car was still in my name, and the storage lot had every legal right to persue me to pay them. then i got the lecture on how this all could have been avoided had i turned in the proper paper work to the dmv after i sold the car...blah....blah....blah
(Your new title does not "cancel" the one he has.)
i was told it did just that. exact words, "if you find the guy and get it worked out, give him this title because the old one is now void and cant be used to transfer ownership"
(Ya, u may be good at playing stupid.... maybe it was "stupid" to post this entire topic/confession on the internet for the whole world to see.
2 can keep a secret if 1 is dead.... how many people now know your secret?)
HMMMM, didnt know i was trying to keep a secret. just looking for other points of view. just as i expected, you may all be car guys and not lawyers, but you have pointed out numerous things i hadnt thought of as of yet and may never had. if i were trying to be shady about this, the car would already be crushed and there would be a stash of parts scattered across the county by now.
(Anus protectus seems like the most important thing to be focusing on right now. Forget the cop's opinion - they are not lawyers! The only opinion that counts is the judge's. I think u royally screwed up at several points here and the more u post, the deeper u are digging. SEE A LAWYER!)
as long as you have known me, do you really think im THAT big of an idiot??? yeah, i got a big shovel, and have used it in the past to dig some sizeable holes, but you got to realize the basis of this post.
plain and simply put, there are more guys here who have been there and done that then i would otherwise have access to. for the most part this has put some concerns in my head i wouldnt have had otherwise as well as answered a few of my questions. it has also raised a few more questions that i now know i need to research BEFORE doing anything with the ride.
i dont have a truck, nor a tow rope in this situation......
so theres plenty of time to think it out and do it the right way.
