you are right about the impound and towing fees. had i ignored them, they would have simply gotten the title and sold it to recover thier costs. but... there was also a citation for the illegal parking that was handed out, probably as it was being loaded on the tow truck. that i could not get out of because i hadnt filed the proper papers and been as prudent as you can bet ill be from here on. my biggest problem, i had no papers showing the car had been sold. after it was paid for, and the deal was done, i trashed them all. i had a car in my name, earing my plates, and not one shred of evidence to proove it wasnt really mine. call it a spur of the moment emotional based descision, but i figured if i was gonna be out any money on the car, i was taking it home. figured id either get my money back in parts i could use on my nova or from the jackass that parked it there. had i paid the citation and walked away, id have never had a chance of seeing any of the money again. i may have jumped head first into shit creek by making a descision while overly angry, but im a good swimmer and i think i can make it to the other side without too much hassel.
