Hate to agree with terry, but Facebook is a huge competition to the Web forums. It's easier, way more active, and plays nice with my smart phone. The forums are quoted on a daily basis, info from the archives are shared constantly, and I myself have sent people here and to the other forum for advice. But truth be told, all you gotta do is look at the traffic here and on the other forum as co

Somewhere on this or the other forum is my post on how to hook in an internally regulated H.O. alternator that will do a away with the headlight blues we all deal with. Or simply ground one field wire and move on. A good ground too, I fried one with a crappy ground.

Yeah I'm here. PM is the best way to get me as it gives me an email alert that s regular post won't. I have and do check in here and there, just haven't had much to post about. Gordo, that pan I was told came from a 440 that was in a early 70s truck, half ton if I remember correctly. You should also have the matching pick up tube for it.

found a post i made about 4 years ago...lol part numbers should be the same. ""Carquest auto parts had some 12" classic (stainless) blades P/N 353-122 but they wouldn't work with my arms. So I bought the Carquest arms (stainless) P/N 551-151 and everything bolted up. The new arms come with new splined drums that go on the wiper pivots. Here's the rub, I'

hey russ, the way i see it, anything too complicated to understand is junk...hahahahahaha if i get the truck the first order of business will be a 2bbl carb and a straight up electronic ignition system. the truck has some great potential as a reliable driver and future organ donor for a sweptline. but that clatter makes me real nervous. could be simple, could be worn out valve springs and time

im thinking its all ignition related to that crappy lean burn system. if i make the deal i will cram a regular electronic in there and see how she runs. its not a drivetrain problem, it will make the same noise sittin in my driveway and just revvin the throttle.

i have been offered a trade on my truck that i am seriously considering, but before i do i need some questions answered. the truck is an 84 or 85 1/2 ton long bed... /6 with the 833 4spd overdrive trans and 323 rear gears. real good running truck. barely 100k on it, and the old slant purrs like a kitten. the problem it has is at higher rpm it clatters like hell. at idle and on up to about 3krp

check with napa or carquest. they sell a universal wiper arm kit that works great. i used to have all the part numbers, im sure someone here saved them. they are steel, so they look right, and accept the modern, wider, wiper blades. you but the arm and the head separate if i remember right. about 60 buck all together last time i bought them.

i was talking to my sheriff friend last night, seems the law is fairly new and the officers are not sure what can be let go and what cant. so they are holding it to the letter of the law and letting the judge sort it out. he tells me as time goes on and they get a feel for what the judge is letting slide then they will become more relaxed. i guess until then we are in for a fun ride. regardless,

if your selling a car, like i do all the time, ask to see the persons license before letting them take it on a test drive. this is not something i have ever done, but i will do it from here on out. throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morn i was in a text conversation with a buy trying to work a trade deal that would get me a long bed truck and send this short bed on its way. due to schedul

its a lot easier to install a petronix system, and cheaper. i have run them on my mopars for years without issues. i also toss the factory coil in the trash and run an accell yellow coil, there too i have had years of issue free running down the highway. on a side note, your symptoms also suggest a flooding in the carb. might be some trash in the needle/seat assembly not letting the fuel flow

i have run polys for years, they are not hard to find parts for. a lot of the daily grind parts swap with the la318. you have already climbed over the hardest mountain, you found where to ask the right questions. with a poly, finding parts are not hard, if you know where to look! that poly will out work an la motor all day dollar for dollar. i always ran the carter bbd whenever possible, the stro

did i miss something??? a d300 crossmember will NOT fit a d100 frame. as written by gordo.. "I may **soon change out my 67 D100 (swb) 4 speed for a 727 I have a 68 D300 which is about to be recycled. If you tell me the transmission crossmember will bolt into my 67 D100frame I shall unbolt it off 3/4 ton frame." ok, is the 68 a d300 as stated, or is it a 3/4 ton as also stated,

you know, im slowly becoming a fan of the plastic and alum combo. they don't break much because the alum isn't as effected by the vibrations of daily use and they cool better. they both have their ups and downs, but Sunday it was 102 at 4pm, i was sitting in traffic crawling down the road for about 20 minutes, decided i needed a dr. pepper so i hit the drive thru. they must have had to

with the help of fellow forum members i have been doing some searching and comparing. it has been a post made over and over thru the years, "where can i get a radiator for my truck?" well, just by simple happenstance i have an 89 d150 now and noticed the radiator looked a lot like my old sweptline radiators. so i did some measuring and comparing and im happy to say this newer radiator w

painless wont have one specifically for your truck. what they have is a "generic" fuse box wired up for all the systems your truck will need. you will have to run the harness part yourself and terminate the ends as needed. they have few, if any, harness for a specific vehicle. there is one sweptline, 2 mid fifty fords, and a gaggle of old chevies running the painless system around here.

what i liked most, when you call them, they ask a lot of questions about everything you have and all you plan to have. you get a fuse box pre wired for all you need including any aftermarket stuff you would like to have in there. the one i ordered for the Vega was wired for electric fans, electric fuel pump, and they hooked me up with an extra wire off the headlight switch for accessory gauge lig

but the metal most bolts are made of will burn out within about a year or 2 of regular driving. i tried that and it blew out on me during a trip to houston. went back with 2 shorter bolts, bolt head inside and nut and washer outside. never came off again.

i have used painless wiring many times in the past. you call them, tell them what you have, and they build the fuse box for you. the wires are all labeled and all you have to do is run the wires and terminate the ends. they are awesome, and easy, and way better then anything dodge ever put in these trucks.

i was scoping out the radiator in my 89 dodge. it has the same style mounting bracket as the sweptlines, and is even a top and bottom tank, not a cross-flow. but its a 2 core all aluminum model, with plastic tanks. the best part is its still available at auto zone and numerous other places. i don't have any measurements to compare to as a reference. the truck i have here doesn't have th
