Hey, Terry, doing my best here, trying to remember stuff from almost 50 years ago! For sure it was a Plymouth, pretty darned sure a '57, and because of the trim and look of the car, not likely a Belvedere, looked like a Fury, but maybe an optioned or as mentioned, Special Order Belvedere? Certainly a factory 6 pack Poly wasn't run of the mill. I was a teenager, almost/barely High School age, working in a Speed Shop parts store, heard lots of street & strip talk: his car was FAST! even into Street Hemi days!
Thanks, Norm! Didn't know that...and always wondered why the HP numbers were so puny yet it ran very strong. Last run I parked it, didn't have enough power to pull a very heavily loaded travel trailer and truck load of mining equipment anymore. But it had been pulling that for months, all over the western states including mountains of Cali, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado etc.
Pulled the heads and found 5 exhaust valves with wedge shaped chunks burned out, about the size of a pinky finger nail! No idea how long it had been running that wy, first time I ever had the heads off, at 300,000+ miles!
